In each of us coexist many selves: multiplicity leads to contradiction, which is the ability to accommodate different points of view, inside and outside of us.
However, we are not only what our bodies delineate. We are part of a vast multitude comprising of humans, animals, plants, and the Earth that houses each species.
We are extensions towards that which is other than ourselves, despite living in this time of desperate need to define and limit ourselves, to torment words forcing them to mean plurality.
A language might not be able to contain the world’s countless identities, but Art can, as it seeks to create something larger than a single experience, to extend and multiply our small lives.
We feel a strong need to expand, to blur, to break the too-sharp lines that deny and prevent the vital amalgamation of differences.
