Ima is the Japanese term for the present moment; in Aramaic and Hebrew it also means “mother,” in the sense of rebirth and renewal. A choreography focused on the here and now, the only possible time for the body.

Graduate of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater of New York, Sofia Nappi is an independent choreographer for major international companies including Staatsoper Hannover, Scottish Dance Theatre and Nederlands Dans Theater 2.
