GIOVANE DANZA ITALIANA
Giovane Danza Italiana, a project promoted by CapoTrave/Kilowatt, Anghiari Dance Hub, and Cantieri Danza, was created with the aim of supporting the professional growth of young artists by providing financial support for production, suitable spaces for research, and opportunities to meet with various professionals in the field as well as national and international practitioners.
The aim is to offer two authors under 35 the opportunity to develop two original choreographic creations (one per author): one involving a group of 3 artists and the other of 5 artists, encouraging production processes that go beyond the “solo choreography” format. This allows the authors to experiment with transmitting their own artistic language and to engage with choreographic writing for multiple performers.
The winners of the national call (which closed on May 4, 2025) will be supported through a one-year production pathway running from July 2025 to July 2026, taking place in the spaces of the three promoting partners in Ravenna, Anghiari, and Sansepolcro. This pathway will intertwine the different projects and foster connections with the communities and audiences across the various territories.
The support for the development of the two selected creations is structured as follows:
● A production award of €15,000 for the creation involving 2 performers plus the choreographer, who may or may not perform on stage. For example: 2 performers + 1 author performing on stage = a complete cast of 3 performers.
* It is at the discretion of each artist/company whether to involve a technical figure during the residency phases. This person does not count toward the number of performers.
● A production award of €25,000 for the creation involving 4 performers plus the choreographer, who may or may not perform on stage. For example: 4 performers + 1 author performing on stage = a complete cast of 5 performers.
*It is up to each artist/company whether or not to involve a technical figure during the residency phases. This person is not counted among the performers.
● Tutoring in dance dramaturgy and/or lighting design – selected in agreement with the artistic directions of the three partner organizations.
● Tutoring by the artistic directions of the three partner organizations throughout all residency periods.
● 30 days of residency for each selected choreographic project, divided as follows:
◊ 5 days in Ravenna (from September 10 to 14, 2025) dedicated to choreographic research and to sharing the initial research materials in progress with the community, with other artists from different generations, and with sector professionals during the Ammutinamenti Festival curated by Cantieri Danza. This first work phase aims to create a rich moment of encounter, exchange, and dialogue among the members of the live performance community, stimulating the continuation of the development of the two works and fostering the creation of new relationships.
◊ 17 days in Anghiari (between January and February 2026) dedicated to the development of the productions, with tutoring by professionals to be selected according to the needs of the artists.
◊ 8 days in Sansepolcro (May 2026) with tutoring by professionals in lighting design to finalize the technical aspects of the two creations before their debut.
● Premiere of the creations at the 24th edition of Kilowatt Festival (July 2026), a prestigious national and international platform where artists can meet industry professionals, critics, and specialized press.
● meetings with the audience communities of Sansepolcro, Anghiari, and Ravenna (Visionari, Spettatori Erranti, Sguardi e Pratiche) and with local dance schools through workshop activities led by the participating artists and moments of sharing the creative process.
The project is supported with funds from the Otto per Mille of the Italian Buddhist Institute Soka Gakkai.

𝑬𝒄𝒉𝒐 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓𝒔 – 𝒖𝒏 𝒂𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒔𝒆𝒏𝒛𝒂 𝒇𝒊𝒏𝒆
What is an applause, really? What lies within this roar that has accompanied us for centuries? 𝐸𝑐ℎ𝑜 𝐶ℎ𝑎𝑚𝑏𝑒𝑟𝑠 – 𝑎 𝑙𝑜𝑣𝑒 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ𝑜𝑢𝑡 𝑒𝑛𝑑 is a contemporary dance performance that explores the nature of applause: a gesture of approval, an automatic response, a reward, a weapon. In this echo chamber, the sound of clapping is no longer celebration, but background noise.

𝑌𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑇𝑎𝑐𝑡𝑖𝑙𝑒 𝐼𝑑𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑡𝑦 (YTI) is a radical project born from the collaboration between the companies YoY Performing Arts, IVONA, and Tyche: a choreographic manifesto that celebrates contamination as a political and creative act. In an era marked by distance and polarization, YTI creates a shared space where difference is not an obstacle but the lifeblood of the artistic process. The project reinvents the concept of interlude: the pause is no longer a passive waiting, but a moment of creation, regeneration, and deep listening.
