The body is measured by tragedy, but redemption leaves room for a disturbing metamorphosis. A dialogue between flesh and simulacrum reveals the opposing conflict of inner impulses and social norms, dissolving the boundary between attraction and repulsion.
Courtney May Robertson is a Scottish performer and interdisciplinary creator based in the Netherlands. Her work explores sociopolitical issues through a language intertwining dance, video and technology. Her aesthetic combines the raw energy of the punk/metal scene with a structured rigour from her cheerleading and military background.
