The character of Barabbas embodies a theater of emotions in which swing, like masks hanging by a thread, our need for salvation, the angry longing for a foundation, for an origin. The play is part of a cycle that longtime director Teresa Ludovico wanted to dedicate to the work of Maestro Antonio Tarantino.
Antonio Tarantino, born in Bolzano in 1938, moved to Turin at an early age. Until the 1990s he worked as a figurative artist and only landed in the theatrical world after age 50, when in 1993 he won the Riccione Prize for Theater with Stabat Mater and La Passione secondo Giovanni.
