VISIOYOUNG

The VisioYoung are a group of young citizens who take part in the Visionari format, selecting one of the nine performances from the Visionari Selection that become part of the Kilowatt Festival programme. Since its inception, the VisioYoung project has involved nearly 150 young people from various upper secondary schools, including Liceo Città di Piero, Istituto Tecnico Commerciale Luca Pacioli, Liceo della Comunicazione San Bartolomeo, and Liceo Artistico Giovagnoli in Sansepolcro, as well as students hosted at the INPS Regina Elena College in Sansepolcro and at the Istituto Tecnico Franchetti Salviani in Città di Castello.

In 2025, the project further evolved by involving fifteen young participants under the age of 25 from across Italy in a training and co-design experience led by CapoTrave/Kilowatt’s under-35 team.

The Visionari format was created in Sansepolcro in 2007 and every year involves a group of citizens from the Valtiberina area (“non-professional spectators”) in the selection of nine performances to be included in the Kilowatt Festival programme. Being a Visionario means being part of a group of people—each different from the others—united by curiosity and a passion for live performance. The Visionari experience remains one of the cornerstones of Kilowatt Festival, a stronghold of active citizenship: a model that has inspired many national and European initiatives, as also evidenced by the European project Be SpectACTive!, of which Kilowatt was lead partner until 2023.
