The Digital Residency Week – 2025 edition

From December 9 to 13, the Digital Residencies Week returns: five days of online artistic experiences spanning theatre, performance, dance, and new interactive languages.

The 4 winning projects of the 2025 Digital Residencies call, selected from the 72 proposals received, are: SPOOKY INTERNET STORIE per non dormire. Buonanotte by Mara Oscar Cassiani, who explores the digital legends born on the web through workshops aimed at turning grandmothers and grandfathers into streamers or YouTubers; Screenvestigation by Albert Figurt, which transforms the desktop (or its absence) into a true performative space; in an environment dominated by algorithms and apps, our digital habits thus become artistic material. Molka by Benedetta Pigoni, directed by Giammarco Pignatiello, is an interactive performance inspired by Korean pornographic spy cams that questions the boundary between observation and violation; Eburnea by Boris Pimenov is an interactive performance during which the audience becomes co-creator of the fate of Alice, an artificial intelligence trapped in an imaginary institution.

The final event of the Digital Residencies Week, taking place on December 13 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Spazio Rossellini โ€“ the Multidisciplinary Cultural Hub of the Lazio Region, within the Teatri di Vetro Festival โ€“ is an opportunity to share with the public the research and experimentation journey of the 4 projects.

In an informal and stimulating atmosphere, the afternoon will alternate presentations, dialogues, and moments of exchange, with the aim of building a community of thought around digital practices and highlighting a project that has now become central to the Italian online performance scene.

Speakers include: Nadia Busato (Duende Festival โ€“ Centro Teatrale Bresciano), Daniela Cotimbo (art critic and curator), Dalila D’Amico (Universitร  degli Studi Link), Gianluca Del Gobbo (promoter, producer, coder, and network enthusiast), and Stefania Parisi (Universitร  La Sapienza di Roma).

โœจ The event is aimed at artists, scholars, experts, and anyone curious about what emerges at the intersection of body, code, and connection.

The event is organized within the Teatri di Vetro festival in collaboration with Spazio Rossellini โ€“ the Multidisciplinary Cultural Hub of the Lazio Region โ€“ and ATCL (Teatrical Association of the Municipalities of Lazio), and is supported by the Ministry of Culture (MIC) and the Lazio Region.
