A new chapter on energetic vibration at close range and high speed, characteristic of mk’s work. A meteorological turbulence of bodies that explores relationship and mutual understanding in purely dynamic terms. The research is unprecedented and entirely devoted to the invention of choreographic systems; it unfolds through a collection of pieces with varying lengths, atmospheres, and bodily trajectories, which, in their connections and interweavings, express an immense trust in the politics of movement itself.
mk is a company active since 2000 in choreography and performance, centered around a stable core of artists and in ongoing collaboration with musician Lorenzo Bianchi Hoesch. Their creations have been presented at major Italian and international festivals. Among their best-known works are Veduta, Bermudas (Danza&Danza Award 2018 and Ubu Award 2019), Parete Nord, EDEN, and Maqam. Since 2020, the company has had a permanent base at Teatro India in Rome with the Oceano Indiano project, from which Radio India also emerged (Rete Critica Award 2020, Ubu Special Award 2021). Founder Michele Di Stefano, Silver Lion at the 2014 Venice Biennale, is an associated artist at the Triennale di Milano (2022–24) and active as a choreographer and curator both in Italy and abroad.
