The choreographic practice meets whipcracking (acrobatics with the whip) through the collaboration with artist Mordjane Mira. From this encounter emerges a stage writing composed of body, whip, and voice: a dialogue between gesture and sound, between impulse and tension. Whipcracking, traditionally a tool of domination, is here transformed into a language of freedom and empowerment, shaping a powerful feminine identity, freed from the codes of patriarchal culture. A physical and symbolic act of resistance, balancing control and the loss of control.
Choreographer, dancer, and performer, Roberta Racis has been developing her own choreographic research since 2018 within European and international projects (Performing Gender, D&D, Crisol). Her works have been presented at major festivals in Italy and abroad, including Romaeuropa, FOG, Santarcangelo, Kilowatt, Fabbrica Europa, Gender Bender, as well as international platforms in England, Slovenia, Spain, Singapore, Macao, India, and Brazil. With Atto Bianco, she opens a new artistic phase centered on rituality, voice, and the female gaze. She has danced for companies in Italy, Portugal, Belgium, and France, collaborating with artists such as Alessandro Sciarroni, Chris Haring, Francesca Pennini, and others. Since 2024, she has been a teacher in the Dance Well project โ movement research for Parkinsonโs.
