We are pleased to announce the start of a new initiative, the RESONANZE (EXTRA)ORDINARIE project, created with the aim of spreading and promoting reading as a tool for participation and inclusion. The project will be developed in the municipalities of Sansepolcro, Castiglion Fiorentino, Pieve Santo Stefano, Cortona, in collaboration with the Effetto K Cultural Association, Cautha, the National Diary Archive Foundation onlus, the “G. Giovagnoli” Higher Education Institute, the State Institute of Higher Education of Castiglion Fiorentino.
The project, aimed at 2 classes of the “G. Giovagnoli” Higher Education Institute and 3 of the Castiglion Fiorentino State Institute of Higher Education, coming from different study areas, and a group of teachers and librarians, involves sharing of reading paths as a tool for active citizenship, training in reading aloud techniques and the production of two musical readings.
During the first phase of the project, the boys and girls, starting from a range of adolescent diaries, selected by the National Diary Archive Foundation, will work with the playwright Lucia Franchi and the actor and trainer Simone Faloppa to bring out from this material themes that can find resonances with their daily lives, their age, their community. These reading paths will be enriched by archive research at the municipal libraries and the National Diary Archive Foundation, and explored in depth thanks to a creative writing workshop. The second phase of the workshop path includes 2 cycles of appointments linked to reading aloud techniques, during which we will work on the texts developed in the first phase which will give life, in the final phase, to two musical readings, organized thanks to the collaboration with Effetto K and the Cautha association, staged by the participants. The 2 readings will be included in the Kilowatt Festival 2024 program and will be accompanied by two moments of presentation of the project and the activities of the National Diary Archive. The project also includes 2 intensive seminars aimed at teachers and librarians to strengthen the skills related to reading aloud in educational figures in the area.
(EXTRA)ORDINARY RESONANCES involves the purchase of 4 annotated bibliographies, which will emerge from the process for a total of approximately 300 volumes, the result of the dialogue between trainers, archive and participants and will remain in the possession of the municipal libraries and comprehensive schools involved.
