“Wreck” is an interdisciplinary performance, mixing dance, music and visual art. A huge black plastic soft sculpture, inflated with air, moves in the space, as a hunter or an invader. That abstract object has a strong evocative power. As it swallows and spits human beings, it could be an allegory of Leviathans or a sea legendary creature.
Pietro Marullo is an Italian artist, working among Italy, Europe and America. His interdisciplinary works lie at the intersection of visual and performing arts. Since 2010, they have been presented in prestigious festivals, such as Biennale in Venice, Festival Avignon, Findplus at Schaubhune of Berlin, Festival TransAmeriques of Montreal, Wildwuchs of Basel. In 2015, he founded the Insiemi Irreali company, supported by the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles and by the Théâtre Varia de Bruxelles. “Wreck” has been selected for Aerowaves 2018.
