PER SENTIRSI MEGLIO
“The eye of man hath not heard, the ear of man hath not seen, man’s hand is not able to taste, his tongue to conceive, nor his heart to report, what my dream was”
(William Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night’s Dream)
Do not be afraid to feel better.
On stage the artists are proposing aesthetics less dark than those which characterized the previous decade. It is not a perfunctory vision of our time: the knotty problems remain and many are not yet solved. But, after the tempest, the desire for a new start is emerging, the wish to believe in something again.
The image of this year is a pun on the Italian double meaning of “sentire”, which means both “hear” and “feeling an emotion or a sentiment”.
Besides, it also means “smelling”, “tasting”, “learning by touch”. In short, the word “sentire” includes almost all the senses.
Art, dance, theatre, music, stimulate this variety of sensations: all are invited to “sentire”, there are no differences, discriminations, exclusions.
“Sentire” is a precious word, to connote 2014 Kilowatt Festival which wants to be multidisciplinary and multisensory, inclusive and enthralling, vitalizing and energizing, as usual, and more than usual.
