THIS FERVENT PATIENCE
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

The last few months have required all of us to know how to wait, more than we thought we were capable of enduring and sustaining. The entertainment industry, like and perhaps more than others, waited ten months before seeing its work spaces reopened to the public. During this time, workers were not idle: they wrote texts, imagined choreography, prepared projects, rehearsed via video conference and sometimes in person in the residency spaces where they were allowed. If all this little outwardly perceptible action had not taken place, the 2020 edition of our festival would not have existed, much less this one in 2021. Our case only counts as a symbol of so many professionals and realities similar to ours who made their wait full of creativity during this period. All this was happening despite the precarious conditions of our work, the alternatives that many had to invent to make a living, the subsidies that did not reach everyone; above all, it was happening despite the resignation that surrounded us, where death, illness, loneliness, unemployment, isolation, and fear dotted everyone’s life, making creation even more difficult than usual. This edition wants to celebrate the fervent patience of artists, technicians, organizers, administrators, media workers, volunteers and even spectators, who kept theater, dance, circus and music alive just when it seemed impossible.<\/p>\n

To exercise patience is to resist and the resistance is an act of hope<\/p>\n
