From this experience emerged the story of travelers arriving in a small town. On stage, Italian and Japanese actors intertwine their languages and cultures, alternating between everyday dialogues and moments of mutual translation. In the background, the quiet of the town gradually allows memories of tragic events buried in the past to surface. mum & gypsy<\/strong> is a Japanese theatre company founded in 2007 by director and playwright Takahiro Fujita, who in 2012, at just 26 years old, received the 56th Kishida Kunio Prize for Playwriting. Fujita is known for his \u201crefrain\u201d method, which involves repeating scenes and lines to create rhythm, depth, and layered meaning. The company collaborates with artists from various disciplines and has been presenting its work abroad since 2013. In 2016, it co-produced Il mio Tempo<\/em> with Fabbrica Europa in Italy, and in 2023 it presented Chair \/ Il Posto<\/em>, an international co-production developed within the Crisol program, which supports emerging Italian artists.
