RESIDENCE CENTRE OF TUSCANY
Since 2018, CapoTrave/Kilowatt is, with Armunia, the Residency Centre of Tuscany, selected by the Region of Tuscany and the Ministry of Culture, which invest in the growth of this project.
Each year, Sansepolcro, Castiglion Fiorentino (Ar) and Rosignano Marittimo (Li) welcome around twenty groups each, who remain in creative residence at local theatre spaces – in the case of Sansepolcro, at the Teatro alla Misericordia, while in Castiglion Fiorentino, at the Teatro Mario Spina – to dedicate time to research, also with a view to the production of new plays.
On the one hand, the artists are nourished by the skills and opportunities present in the territory, through meetings, relationships, and creative paths that CapoTrave/Kilowatt tries to offer them; on the other hand, it is the local community that grows, thanks to the presence of the companies.
Often the residencies end with a final open rehearsal, where the state of the artist’s research is shown to the public.
The ensemble of these stage openings is the programme that, from September to May, we call Kilowatt Tutto l’Anno.
